David Murray
David Murray, 66, of Irishtown, passed away peacefully at The
Moncton Hospital on Sunday, January 15, 2017.
Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Lionel and
Pauline (Atkinson) Murray. David was formerly employed with Maritime
Farm Supplies. He was a member of the Buckskinners Muzzleloading
Association and the Danks’ Rangers. David was very much an
outdoorsperson, enjoying walking, canoeing and snowshoeing. He was an
antique collector, enjoyed woodworking, cartoons and to his family, he
was known as “Mr. Fix It”. David was an avid historian and
enjoyed socializing with his friends and family, especially his
grandchildren.
David will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 33 years,
Fonda (Jones); daughter, Lana Ivany (Keith) of Moncton; precious
grandchildren, Kevin, Kelsey and Kent; his sister, Margery-Anne Murray
of Shediac; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
A Service to celebrate and honor David’s life will be held
at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00
am. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the
service. Interment will be held at Gladeside Cemetery in the
spring.
In David’s memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer
Society or the Friends of The Moncton Hospital (Oncology Unit) would
be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at
