Gloria Forder – 2017

September 2nd, 1939 to January 13th, 2017
It is with great sadness that the family of Gloria Forder announce her passing.
Gloria (nee Hastings), will be reunited with her beloved husband of 50 years, Don (deceased) and she will be forever remembered by her children Joe, Dana and her partner Murray Blair, and Chris and his wife Teresa. Fondly remembered by her beautiful grandchildren Ashley (Joe), Dylan & Delaney (Dana), and Matthew & Jaimie (Chris). She will also be in the hearts of Samantha, Christina, Marcus, Jacob and Courtney.
Gloria was the oldest of 3 children and will be sadly missed by her siblings Kaye Reamsbottom and Charlie & Pat Hastings as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Gloria was a selfless person who spent much of her life caring for and coordinating the busy lives of her 3 children and the business affairs of her husband Don. She always put her family first and that meant giving up her career as a teacher at Port Perry High School.
Music played a significant role in her life and she was an accomplished pianist playing as United Church organist for many years as well as pianist for The Scugog Choral Society under the direction of her mother, Grace Hastings. Gloria’s talent was showcased when she performed a classical music duet at The Town Hall 1873 for 2 sold out evenings in 1981.
Gloria was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend and will always be in our hearts.
The Family of Gloria Forder will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, “McDermott-Panabaker Chapel”, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Tuesday, January 17th from 7 – 9 p.m. A private family service will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation. Memories, photos and condolences may be left at www.waggfuneralhome.com
