Obituary for Mrs. Judy Mary Walker
Mrs. Judy Walker of High River, Alberta passed away suddenly surrounded by her family at the Foothills Hospital on December 29th due to complications from a stroke at the age of 77 years. Judy is survived by her son Ron (late wife Joy); daughter Cheryl Walker-Harper; son Jim (Kathy); grandchildren Sharon (Jeff) Harms, Karen (Dan) Hunter, Crystal (Matt) Leeferink, Candace (Jason) Gillanders, Nick Harper, Reece Harper, Lacey (Matt) White, Tyson Walker, Chase Walker, Jared Walker; great – grandchildren Megan Hunter, Brooklyn Hunter, Hanna Leeferink, Blake Leeferink, Madison Leeferink, Ethan Harms, Jack Gillanders, Charlotte Gillanders, Quinn White and Dane White. Judy is also survived by her sisters Vickie (Melvin) Miller and Violet Fulton as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Judy was predeceased by her husband Walter; parents Julius & Ruth Varga and brother Julius “Sonny” Varga.
Judy was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta and grew up in the Tilley, AB area before moving to Pekisko on the family farm. Judy married Walter Walker in 1958 and they lived in High River where they raised their children. Judy had many careers throughout the High River area including AGT, Fuller Brush, Macleods, 26 years at CIBC where she retired. Judy spent her last Christmas surrounded by her whole family a special memory that the family will cherish.
A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held on Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the High River Full Gospel Tabernacle (1802 – 9th Ave SE, High River).
