1931 – 2016
Algar Melvin Thiessen, late of Marcelin, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2016 at the Shellbrook Hospital at the age of 85 years. Algar was born on July 5, 1931 to Elizabeth and Abraham Thiessen in Borden, SK.
Algar leaves to celebrate his life, his loving spouse Irene Scragg of Marcelin, SK; his two sons, Roger (Rachelle) of Bellevue, SK; Jack (Kim) of Waldheim, SK; his two daughters, Lory (Norm) of Thailand; and Joanne (Gerry) of Leask, SK; the mother of his children, Doris Thiessen of Leask, SK; his brothers, Lloyd (Joyce) of Waldheim, SK; Roy (Starla) of Kimberly, B.C.; Norm (Marion) of Vancouver, B.C; his 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives through marriage, and all of Irene’s family and numerous friends that shared in Algar’s life.
There will be a Celebration of Life held for Algar on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from Jack & Kim Thiessen’s Family farm.
In lieu of tributes, memorial donations may be made in memory of Algar to either the Shellbrook & Districts Health Services Foundation or to the choice of the donor.
