We are saddened to announce the death of Mary Olive (Hodgson)
Hannah, which occurred on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Charlotte
County Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Saint John, NB, she
was a daughter of the late Philip and Theresa (O’Toole)
Hodgson.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and
will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Her grandchildren were her
pride and joy and she loved spending time with them. Mary was outgoing
and sociable. She loved reading, music and travel.
She worked for several years at Calp’s and
Colwell’s. Mary was a devoted Jehovah’s
Witness for over 60 years.
She is survived by her children: Barb Hannah, Sandra Hannah,
Rodney (Lisa Baumann) Hannah, Nancy Hannah and Richard (Heather)
Hannah; grandchildren: Cassie and Jillian Hannah; sister, Kathy (Mike)
Monaghan; special nephew, David Hodgson; special nieces: Colleen
Bowman, Kristine Todd, Carolyn Banks; along with many nieces, nephews
and cousins and members of her extended family.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her step-father,
Arthur Scott; brother, James Hodgson; sisters: Barbara Hodgson and
Rose Fuller.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Passamaquoddy Lodge
who became Mom’s second family. Also, to the
nursing staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Charlotte County
Hospital who took such great care of Mom during her last
days.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home,
111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A Memorial
Service will take place on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm from
The Kingdom Hall, 2020 Loch Lomond Road, Saint John, NB. For
those who wish, remembrances in Mary’s memory may be made to
jw.org, Parkinson Society or a Charity of the Donor’s
Choice.
