Harold Weston Jonah
1925-2016
Harold Weston Jonah, 91, of Hillsborough passed away suddenly
on December 16th, 2016 at the Moncton Hospital with his family by his
side.
Harold was born in Dawson Settlement on August 1st, 1925
the son of the late Isaiah and Minnie (Newcomb) Jonah.
Harold worked at the Moncton Airport as a Crew Chief until his
retirement. He was a member of the Hillsborough Legion,
Branch #32 and the Shepody Fish & Game, he was also a member
of the Hillsborough Golf Course. Harold loved the outdoors and enjoyed
hunting and fishing when he was able. He spent countless
hours in his garden and was an avid golfer. His main
priority in life was making sure his family was well cared for.
He looked forward to all the visits from his grandchildren
and his great granddaughters, they were definitely his pride and joy.
He has left everyone with many good memories. “What we
keep in memory is ours forever.”
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Wanda (Whitney)
Jonah; daughters, Susan Jonah of Yoho Lake and Wendy Jonah of
Hillsborough; son, Steven Jonah (Darlene) of Rothesay; his cherished
grandchildren, Amanda, Stephanie, Dennis and Sasha; his precious great
granddaughters, Chloe and Whitney; sister, Eleanor Steeves of
Saskatchewan; sisters-in-law, Audrey Jonah of Riverview and Betty
Haley (Doug) of Kingston, ON. He will also be missed by
several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers,
Clyde and Arnold.
The family will be meeting with Relatives and friends at
the Albert County Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7-9 pm for a
time of visitation and sharing of memories. A Celebration of
Harold’s Life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on
Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Barbara Haire-Jubb
officiating. Following the service the family will be
meeting for further sharing of memories and for refreshments at the
funeral home.
