James Preston Woodman
James “Pres” Woodman of Dauphin, MB passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Winnipegosis Hospital on December 13, 2016. James was born in New Richmond, Quebec on April 29, 1929, but lived all over including Toronto & Mt. Forest, ON, Dauphin, MB, Calgary, AB and then in 2012 moved back to Dauphin. Preston had a great sense of humor and loved to joke and tell stories of his life growing up and working in logging camps, St. Lawrence Cement in Oakville, and a restaurant, the Dew Drop Inn in Mt. Forest ,that he and his wife Grace owned. He loved to help farm and was quick to lend a hand to fix or help build things if asked.
Left to mourn are his wife Grace Woodman (Caruk); son John Woodman (Donna); daughter Cherryl VanDongen (John); grandson James VanDongen; granddaughters Lisa Hussain (Suleman), Jeanine Woodman; great grandsons Bryden and Obiadah.
Our family wishes to thank the great nurses at Winnipegosis Hospital for the great care they gave.
In accordance with James’wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial in his memory will take place at a later date.
