GAGNON, LYNDA Diane -(nee Erickson), in her 68th year, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, Dec 1/ 2016 at the Dumont Hospital. Lynda courageously fought a progressive lung disease for the past 12 years but succumbed to complications of a serious abdominal surgery.
Born in Saskatoon to a Military Family, she travelled across the country with different postings. She met her husband Ron in Ontario and worked and lived there for 12 years. In Toronto and Ottawa she gave birth to Catherine and Michael. She transferred with Ron to the Halifax area for 22 years. There she enjoyed working at Bridport Ind as the Admin Manager. Another transfer brought her to Moncton for the last 12 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and in her younger years, played Softball with the gals in Cole Harbour. A quick trip to Tim Hortons always brightened her day.
Even through her illness she never lost her spirit, dignity, sense of humor or her generosity to those she loved.
Most loving and devoted wife of Ronald Gagnon. Loving mother of Catherine (Derrick) and Michael (Karina) Cherished grandma of Braedon, Jordis and Julia who will live on in her heart forever. Loving daughter of the late Alvin and Sarah Erickson (nee McAuley).
Survived by her brothers and sisters – Myrna (Don Thomas) of Ottawa, Sandy (Pat Hall) of Ottawa, Brian Erickson of Ottawa, Rick Erickson (Jan) of Mission BC, Deborah (Sleigh) of Ottawa and Dwayne Erickson (Diane) of Sooke, BC.
Predeceased by her brother Alvin Erickson (Patricia) of Ottawa and her sister Sally (Ron Whitford) of Ottawa.
Lynda will be sadly missed by her sister in-laws – Doris Ann (Henry Legere), Jean (Dave Girouard deceased) Jeanette (Dave Hebert) and Pauline (Art Lowther).
Predeceased by sister in-law Lorraine (Doug Cormier, also deceased). Lynda was the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews who will always keep her in their hearts.
Resting at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church Street, Amherst, NS. Friends may pay their respect on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. with parish prayer at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, 63 Church Street, Amherst, NS on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Father Keith Billard officiating. Reception to follow.
In Lynda’s memory, donations to the Heart and Lung Assoc. would be appreciated.
