1954-2016
Born in Montreal, passed away suddenly in Toronto at the age of 62. Beloved son of the late Linda Snowdon Pascoe Wolkow and the late Hyman Samuel Wolkow. Older brother to Joseph (Monique), Lucianna (Alan), Maria (Paul) and Charles (Dianne).
“Uncle Mike” to Rosa (Matt), Peter, Kelly, Lindsay, Eric, Matthew and Luke.
Mike began a career in radio broadcasting at a very young age that took him to many provinces across Canada and into the homes of Canadians coast to coast as he delivered the news and current events. His journalistic talent and ‘no-nonsense’ approach to broadcasting quickly earned him a solid and credible reputation that propelled his career. Mike was dedicated to his work and his assignments took him from small towns to large metropolitan cities across the country. He was particularly fond of St. John’s Newfoundland and its charm and people kept him there broadcasting and writing for several years. Mike settled in Toronto where he continued to enjoy talking politics, taking long walks and going to the local cafés and shops. His presence will be missed by all who knew him.
A strong branch from the family tree has fallen and our hearts are saddened by this sudden loss. We take comfort in knowing that he will walk beside us every day. A private service will be held with family and close friends.
