Yvonne Jamont
With heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce the passing of dearest Yvonne on April 27th after a courageous fight with cancer. Wife to Gerry, Mom to Paul and Jan and loving grandma to Josie, Kiara, Anna and Ben. She also leaves behind sister Agnes and brother Norman. Born and raised in British Columbia she moved with her family to Ottawa in 1986. Here she launched into a career in Real Estate which she loved and did for more than 35 years. Her west coast tastes were a big part of her, particularly her penchant for spotted prawns and Dungeness crab. Yvonne loved being grandma. She took so much joy in being with her grandkids, telling stories, doing handicrafts and simply enjoyed watching them grow up. A passionate gardener, she really loved planting things and digging in the dirt as well as successfully growing dahlias, an indoor herb garden and several outside garden projects which gave her a deep senses of joy and accomplishment . An avid reader all her life she always chose books over TV.
She also took pride in her talents for baking, everything from brownies to exotic deserts and even her own recipe for ice cream. Yvonne was active in the Kanata United church as a member of the social committee. She also encouraged her granddaughters to join the choir
At hear she was generous and kind always ready to help out when called.
Goodbye my love. You will live in our hearts for always.
A funeral service will be held on May 11th at 2.00 pm at the Kanata United Church, 33 Leacock Drive Kanata

My dearest friend was brave and full of life. She fought this terrible disease with dignity and humor. We had many a laugh together over the 45 years that we knew her mostly in Vancouver.
She had a knack of laughing at odd things and was very pragmatic. A great cook and her apple pie was my favourite. When she and her husband and children moved to a Ottawa we moved to the U.K.
We were fortunate to have seen her here in the U.K. over the years.
    We will miss her .
Rest well dear friend now your suffering is over.
    Finally at peace.:
    Your friend in all things
    Veronica James
