Obituary of Willie John Wark
It is with sadness that the family of Willie Wark announces his death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Monday, May 8, 2023, at the age of 65. Born in Plaster Rock, NB, on November 22, 1957, he was the husband and partner of Rose (Whyte) Wark of Keswick Ridge.
In addition to his wife, Rose, Willie leaves behind his children, Blair Wark and Christine Wark (Kevin Hughes); father, Neil Wark; grandchildren, Brianna, Logan, Brian, and Luke Hughes; brothers, Keith Wark (Rose), Brad Wark, Kevin Wark, and Blake Wark; and a large extended family. Willie was predeceased by his mother, Kathleen (Green) Wark; sister, Mona (Wark) Boutilier; grandson, Cole Wark-Hughes.
Willie will always be known as a motivated, caring, and supportive partner, father, and friend to those closest to him. He moved many times around the province during which time he was a dedicated journalist, photographer and editor working for several newspapers throughout this first career. Willie left the career he loved to pursue the life he dreamed of and return to his family homestead where he began developing Wark’s Point Campground.
Willie will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, in the community he built in the campground and through the countless people he mentored and befriended throughout his years. He was a dedicated man to his wife and family instilling strong family values in his children and spending every moment possible with his grandchildren who will treasure all the memories and time with their ‘bompy’ in the home he built and tagging along on many mini adventures.
A visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Friday, May 12th, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. For those who wish, donations in Willie’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
