With deep sadness we announce the passing of our dad William (Bill) Hitra on February 10, 2023 at Selkirk General Hospital.
A devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Friend.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Gloria, sons Jim (Leslie), and Darryl. Grandchildren Brandon, Michael (Jill) and Myles. Great Grandchildren Seth and Lincoln, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Steve and Sophie and siblings; and his loving wife Mary on January 24, 2023.
Dad grew up in the Springfield area and lived there most of his life. They raised 3 children and were married 67 years. Dad was involved in many community activities and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed.
Prior to dad’s declining health he enjoyed working outdoors. He kept very busy with yard work and was extremely proud of his garden tractor fleet. He would often be found in his garage working on various projects.
Many thanks to the doctors and staff at Selkirk General Hospital for dad’s care during his stay.
Remembered forever in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place. Private service to follow at a later date.
