1959 – 2023
William Dean ‘Bill’ Berry passed away in Red Deer, Alberta, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, May 29, 2023 at the age of 63 years. He was born on June 5, 1959 at Red Deer, Alberta. Bill was the third son of William and Margaret (nee Brownlee) Berry.
Bill loved his career as a long-haul trucker between Alberta and Texas with Steen Trucking. He had a great friendship with the Steens that made him proud. Bill stated that he earned a “Rhodes Scholarship,” and he was also a Teamsters member. With his brother Dale, Bill was pivotal in completing the Berry-Brownlee Family History Book. He was extremely proud of his ancestor’s contribution to the American Revolution and the exploration of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains.
Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sally (Cyril Sarto); his son, William, his many children and grandchildren living in Canada and overseas, and his brother, Dale who lives in Malaysia.
Bill was predeceased by his brother, Wayne, his sister, Susan and his son, Kelly. A Graveside Service will be held at the Raven Cemetery, Red Deer County, Alberta on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
