Obituary
William Cumby of Hopeall passed peacefully away at Saint Luke’s Home surrounded by his loving family, aged 81 years.
Predeceased by his parents Merab and Walter Cumby; sisters Adelaide Petipas and Debbie Reid; and brother Charles Cumby.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 59 years, Betty (nee Jackson); two beautiful daughters Karen (Ainslie Thorne) and Sharon; treasured granddaughter Ashley (Michael Cole); loving grandson Travis; brothers Clyde (Ivy) and Cecil (Pam); sister Marion (Lewis); sisters-in-law Barb (Ed), Mable (Selby), Mona (Stewart), Rona and Stella; brothers-in-law Fred, Kevin and Pete; also a large number of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
The family would also like to thank the staff on Pleasantview Terrace at Saint Luke’s Home for all their love and care over the past year.
Cremation has taken place.
Resting at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo, on Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held from Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo, on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at First United Church Cemetery, Hopeall.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
