WILGAN (née Keller), Linda
—
1955 – 2023
The family of Linda Wilgan regretfully announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and cousin. Linda passed away peacefully at Central Okanagan Hospice House on January 9, 2023, after facing her long illness with dignity and strength. Those who knew her well will not be surprised to hear that she stubbornly fought until the end, making sure that she had many conversations with those who are dearest to her, before her time.
Born in Oliver, BC in 1955, Linda was proud to call Kelowna, BC home for over 50 years. She worked as a floral designer for four decades and is fondly remembered for her sense of humour and attentiveness.
Linda was predeceased by her loving parents, Albert and Shirley Keller, as well as her brother-in-law, George Wilgan. She is survived by her husband Ernie; sons Jamie (Danielle) and Jesse (Nicala) Wilgan; brothers Jim (Sheri) and Mike (Sonja) Keller; brother-in-law Wayne (Paula) Wilgan; and her numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was our friend, confidant, fixer, authoritarian, and warm light. To say that she will be missed is an understatement to a truly special woman. We know we will see her again, and she’ll be waiting for us around the kitchen island with a good meal and a wisecrack or two.
Linda’s family would like to thank the staff at Kelowna Hospice House for the tireless care she received during her final months.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House or to a charity of your choice.
