Star, Wayne Zev, age 68 passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29,2023. Born in Yarmouth, NS on December 9, 1954, he was a son to the late Danny and Gertrude Star. Wayne had a wonderful loving and adventurous life despite his handicap. Wayne is survived by his sister, Rosalie (Victor); brother, Phil (Francine); nephews, Brian (Sandy); Steven (Mattea); great nephew and nieces, Dani, Phoenix and Roxie; uncle and aunt, Saul and Barbara Laufer; as well as many cousins and friends. Funeral service will be Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rabbi Gary Karlin officiating. There will be a live webcast of the service on the Sweeny’s Funeral Home website. Interment will follow at Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the YACRO Foundation (6 Thurston St., Yarmouth, N.S. ,B5A 4K5) or charity of your choice. A special thank you to the most dedicated and loving staff of YACRO through the past 30 years, including all the nurses of 3E and 4N of the Yarmouth Regional Hospital for your compassionate care. Thank you also to Dr. David Webster and Dr. Anshuman Sood for their most amazing concern and devotion to Wayne.
