Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on Saturday May 20, 2023 at the age of 84.
Beloved wife of Corrie Sluys who he was married to for 61 years. Loving father of Gerry (Wilma) Sluys of Chepstow, Jacqueline (Ron) Knop of Bluevale, Wen (Alison Clark) Sluys of Clinton, Frank (Jelleke) Sluys of Listowel, Mark Sluys of Listowel and Ed (Jennifer) Sluys of Richmond Hill. Cherished grandfather of 20 and 11 great grandchildren. Survived by 1 brother in the Netherlands, 1 sister in the Netherlands and 1 sister in Australia. Predeceased by 4 brothers.
Wayne, along with Corrie started farming in the Netherlands in 1965 and emigrated to Canada in 1989 and continued to farm in Canada until 2011. Wayne continued to be involved in the farm.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday May 25, 2023 from 10 am until the time of the service at Listowel Evangelical Missionary Church, Listowel. Funeral Service will be at 11 AM. Memorial donations may be made to Listowel Memorial Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, or charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.brennemanfuneralhome.ca.
