Peacefully passed away, surrounded by the love of his family at the Water’s Edge Care Community on Monday May 29, 2023, at the age of 84 years. Wayne was the beloved husband of Danielle (nee Dufresne) Martin, in their 64th year of marriage, and the loving father to Louise Haddow (Dan), Michelle Martin (Jim), and Robert Martin (Sandra). He was the cherished grandfather to Jennifer, Emilee (Nathan), Brandon (Luba), Katelyn (Aaron), Lisah (Dave), and David (Stephanie), and great-grandfather to Connor, Colton, Isabelle (birthday buddy) and Reggie. Wayne will be affectionately remembered by his sister Lynda Winfield (Tim). He is predeceased by his sister Eileen Lawrence (Jack), as well as his parents Thomas Martin and Ilene (nee Callahan) Martin. Wayne enjoyed a long career as the Roads Supervisor for the City of North Bay. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. T. Rotondo, Dr. K. Wilkins and to all the wonderful-caring staff at Waters Edge Care Community for their outstanding care over the years. As per Wayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Whispering Pines Funeral Home’s Crematorium, and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or an animal charity of choice would be gratefully acknowledged by Wayne’s family.
