Wayne Carlyle Gorman – 80, Hopewell, Pictou County.
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wayne Carlyle
Gorman on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax.
Born in North River, he was the son of the late William George Gorman
and Frances Lily (McNutt) (Gorman) Sproule.
Wayne spent much of his early years in the cement business
and was also a great carpenter, having just finished a garage for
himself with the help of his grandson, Jackson, teaching him the
required skills along the way. Wayne was a long-time member of North
River Fire Brigade and an avid curler. His real passion was horses,
with draft ponies in the early years, and heavy horses in the later
years. He loved the draft community, the shows and his
horses.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Chris Fraser; son, Allen
(Laura), Truro; daughter, Jennifer (Adrian), Newfoundland;
stepdaughter, Lindsay (Justin); five grandchildren; four great
grandchildren; sister, Wilma Landsburg, Salmon River; several nieces
and nephews.
Along with his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his wife,
Maureen (Crory) Gorman; brothers, Roland Gorman (Eleanor), Stuart
Gorman; brother-in-law, Darrell Landsburg.
Interment will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday,
May 20, 2023, at North River Cemetery. Celebration of Life will follow
at North River Fire Hall, 74 Truro Road, North
River.

River Fire Brigade, Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice
are welcomed.
