February 20, 1958 – June 19, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family the late Walter Gallant announce his passing on Tuesday, June 19th, 2023 at Western Long Term Care, Palliative Unit at the age of 65 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are; daughter Sara Gardner (Adam), two granddaughters, Kallie and Kenzie; spouse Nora McCarthy; step daughter Amanda Merrigan (Jeff), step granddaughter Lilah; brothers: Dan (Josephine), Howard, Pat (Gloria), Les (Mary), Gord (Paula), Charlie (Nadine) and Vince; sisters: Matilda Ball, Genevieve Bennett, Rose George (Isaac), Mary Ellen Gilbert (Doug), Pauline Russell (Dave), Maggie Bennett (Jason); as well as the McCarthy, Hynes and White Families. He will be missed by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Predeceased by his son Elliott (2004), wife Marion (2008), parents Patrick and Adeline Gallant.

Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 -9:00 p.m. The funeral mass will take place from Our Lady Star of the Sea, Benoit’s Cove on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023 at 11:00 am with Fr. Ed Terry officiating, interment to follow at the family plot located in old Roman Catholic, Benoit’s Cove. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Mental Health Initiatives, 133 Riverside Drive, P.O. Box 2006, Corner Brook, NL, A2H 6J8 or the Canadian Cancer Society.
