Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walter Sanford Densmore at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 24, 2023. He was born in Saint John, NB, on March 6, 1945, to the late Herbert and Alice Ruth (Evans) Densmore.
Walter worked predominantly as a Laborer with various industries throughout the city. He was more of a homebody than anything and liked to keep his circle of friends and family close and tight knit. Walter had strong opinions about things and wasn’t shy to share them with those he was close to, and sometimes those he was not. He was quiet and kind though. For the last year he has resided at Seely’s Care Home in Martinon and prior to that he was at Dobblesteyn’s Care Home in Saint John. Both homes provided him with such excellent care and compassion and helped to ease the minds of his family so much. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
His family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Luan Le for all the kindness and compassion shown to Walter over the years.
He is survived by his brothers, Carl (Valerie) and George (Linda); sister-in-law, Ethel; as well as several nieces and nephews; four great nieces and two great nephews, his dear, special friend, Agnes Fury; and his former spouse, Eleanor. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Marion and his brothers, Lloyd and Beverly.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with the family’s wishes, no visitation will be held. A graveside committal service will be held at Brown’s Cemetery in Bains Corner on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 2pm. For those who wish, memorial donations in Walter’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
