Passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Martindale Gardens in his 95th year. Walter is predeceased by his loving wife Marie (2010). Beloved father to Gary (Aliki) and Karen (Predeceased 2010) and grandfather to Elizabeth and Alexander. Brother to Leonard (Mary Anne) and Ross (predeceased).
He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and came to Toronto as a teenager where he worked various jobs before owning his own body shop business where he could foster his love of cars. His house on the Niagara escarpment in Campbellville, ON was his pride possession and he spent many hours tending the gardens and finishing carpentry over his 40+ years living there. Walter’s dry sense of humour and unexpected wit were a hallmark of his personality and were memorable to all who met him.
A Committal Service will be held at GATE OF HEAVEN CATHOLIC CEMETERY, 580 Old York Rd., Burlington on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at 3 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Please sign the Tribute Wall.
