Obituary of Wallace Burlington Corey
Wallace Burlington Corey passed away at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital on Monday, March 27, 2023. Born in Cherryvale, New Brunswick, on December 23, 1950, he was the son of the late James Stillman and Mabel Corey.
Wally will be missed by his beloved wife of 49 years, Louise (Desroches); children, Terri Judith and Sonny Corey (Krista); grandson, Liam Corey; sister, Myrthe McFadzen (Terry); brothers, Garfield (Eileen) and David (Cecelia) Corey, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Wally was predeceased by his brothers, James, Wayne, and Richard.
Wally was a dedicated member of the staff at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital, serving 40 years. After retiring at age 60, he went on to work with the Corps of Commissionaires at the RCMP J Division. He loved to give and was an avid volunteer for the CIBC Run for the Cure for many years, as well as for the Chalmers Hospital Foundation for over 20 years.
A lover of the outdoors, he would often be found on his ATV with friends, hunting and guiding.
He was an avid carpenter, and was renowned for his crafts, especially at Christmas.
A memorial for Wally will be held in May. In lieu of flowers, donations to CIBC Run for the Cure or The NB Lung Association would be appreciated in Wally’s name.
