Jackson, Wade James Edward – Age 47, passed away suddenly on February 24, 2023 in QEII, Dickson building. Wade was born in Halifax and grew up in Elmsdale. He was an African Nova Scotian history enthusiast, loved the game of chess and comic books. Wade enjoyed working at the Black Cultural Centre and as a tour guide.
Wade is survived by his parents, Winston and Wanda Jackson, Elmsdale; sisters, Wendy and Winnell, Dartmouth; nephews, Dante and Kynan; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, James and Theta Jackson; maternal grandparents, Edward and Thelma Mitchell; and aunts, Anne-Marie Jackson and Elizabeth Jackson.
Per Wade’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be March 3 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in Riverview United Church Hall, 760 Highway 2, Elmsdale. **Please note the change of venue.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The War Amps or Shelter Nova Scotia.
