VERGE – Ronald E., 78, of Hunts Point, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Friday, March 24, 2023, surrounded by family.
Born in Halifax, Ron was a son of the late Walter and Margaret (Hartlen) Verge.
Ron worked as a carpenter in his earlier years before going to Michelin to work for over 30 years. Ron enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing as well as being a “jack of all trades”. He will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who loved to spend time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Sharon (Murray); his daughters Michelle Verge and Marsha (Michael) Ringer, both of Liverpool. His grandchildren Jamie (Haytham), Colin, Ethan, Brody and Rhys. His sister in law Alice Verge and his brother in law Phillip MacDonald as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his sisters Bea McLeod, Shirley Giffin, Barb MacDonald and his brother George.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Hunts Point, NS. Reverend Cherry Workman officiating.
