Obituary of Valerie Lynn Robar
Robar, Valerie Lynn – Age 77, of Halifax passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Belleisle Creek, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Grace (Vail) London. Valerie was a graduate of the Sus Composite High. After graduation, in 1964, she joined TD Bank and was employed for 35 years, retiring in 1999. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Valerie is survived by her sons, Michael, Halifax; Mark (Davita), Halifax; grandchildren, Maggie and Maria; brother, Merle (Bernice), Ontario; sisters, Gloria (Ron), New Brunswick; Darlene (David), New Brunswick; and brother-in-law, Barry Shano, Halifax. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Jack and her eldest brother, Beverley.
After Valerie retired, she started playing sports. She became a member of the Day Ladies Curling at the Mayflower Curling Club and a member of the Wanderers Lawn Bowling Club.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Donations in Valerie’s memory may be made to Canadian Mental Health Association – Nova Scotia division. As per Valerie’s wishes, her body has been cremated. There will be a committal service in St John’s Columbarium, family only.
