It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Turner Gordon John McKenzie of Walkerton on Saturday, July 15, 2023, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Turner, known to many as T-Mac, was 19 years old. Beloved son of Rob and Kim Watson-McKenzie and cherished brother of Melynda (Skylar Wright) of Owen Sound and Brayden (Mya Lepine) of Pembroke. Turner will be dearly missed by his grandparents Dale and Lynda Watson of Holstein and many aunts, uncles and cousins of the Watson and McKenzie families. He will also be profoundly missed by his girlfriend Erin Overholt and family of Brussels.

Turner had a heart that was larger than life. He was compassionate and devoted to those that surrounded him. He had an ability to recognize when others needed to be included and he was quick to take on that role. Turner enjoyed socializing with his friends. They would gather to watch sports, play pool and cornhole, or simply chill in each other’s company – his chirps no stranger to the gathering. He had a quick wit and unique sense of humor, taking great pleasure in entertaining those around him. He cultivated a wide circle of friends that will be sure to miss his infectious laugh and companionship.
Turner had a remarkable understanding of sports. A sense of what to do and how to do it when it came to game situations. He participated in competitive ball and hockey throughout his life and was currently proud to be a member of the Wingham Ironmen Jr. C hockey team. He also enjoyed playing slow-pitch in Walkerton with his buddies on the Booze Hounds. Turner was a dedicated and loyal teammate. He exemplified the meaning of playing for the logo on the front of his jersey, not for the name on his back. Teammates are sure to miss his influence and leadership.
Friends and relatives are invited for visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Walkerton. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the Walkerton Community Centre (290 Durham Street West). Reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Walkerton.
