Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mary Theresa “Tresa” (Morris) Spence which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, September 22nd, 2023. Born 1964, in Saint John, she is the daughter of the late Michael and Theresa (Gallagher) Morris. Tresa worked at TD Insurance for 7.5 years. She enjoyed cooking & baking, reading, Tim Horton’s iced coffee, bingo, playing cards and she loved to win. She spent a lot of time at hockey arenas and ball fields, supporting her son Dale at all of his games. She loved to watch her son race horses and she adored the view in her new house. She had a passion for travelling with her husband and spent many summers camping at Pine Cone. Tresa had a vibrant and outgoing personality. She was so kind and giving and she always put everyone ahead herself. The center of her world was her two Dales and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Tresa is survived by her loving and devoted husband Dale of 41 years; son Dale Spence (MacKenzie) of Tyne Valley, PEI; sisters Cathy Cheeseman (Silas), Jo-Anne Groundwater (Darren); brothers Michael Morris (Melissa), Bobby Morris (Kelly-Anne) all of Saint John; nieces and nephews Cara, Sara, DJ, Jessica, Eric, Michael, Christie, Tanner, Braydon, Kenady, Reid, Kyle, Kerry-Anne, Shannon and Sarah; as well as many friends. Along with her parents, Tresa was predeceased by her grandparents Joseph “JK” and Mary Morris.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Wednesday, September 27th from 2 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place in the Fundy chapel on Thursday, September 28th at 10 a.m. followed by an interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Tresa may be made to the MS Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
