It is with great sadness that Todd Verot (57) of Okotoks, Alberta passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 4, 2023. He was born April 13,1965, in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Todd is survived by his wife Jane and 2 children, Makayla (27) and Devin (24). He is also survived by his parents Bob and Diane Verot and his three brothers Tracy, Brad, and Scott, along with his in-laws Hana and Wally Becker. He also had a grandmother and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles too many to mention.
Todd had spent his younger years dirt biking and camping with many friends. One of his favorite spots was Lake Koocanusa which he would spend every summer for the next 25+ years. This was where he taught Makayla and Devin dirt biking, quadding and all the many trails to be found with them over those years.
His career started out working in the oil patch doing seismic for several years then switched to a career in the fertilizer industry and then ended up in carpentry. During his years in the fertilizer industry, he had travelled to Pakistan and Kazakhstan helping to expand new farming technology. Eventually he settled into the construction industry, so he could be home with his family, where he spent the next 25+ years working his way to a Construction Superintendent.
Todd was good at anything he put his mind to. From home renovations, fixing dirt bikes and quads or whatever was broken, he had a natural knack. He was always willing to help anyone who asked, even a perfect stranger, that was just who he was.
Todd was also a huge animal lover. All the family pets over the years were rescues or strays. He had a soft spot for his pets and loved them with all his heart.
Todd’s family will host a Celebration of Life on March 20, 2023, at Foothills Centennial Center in Okotoks, AB at 1:00pm. There will be a reception to follow and a gathering after for anyone who wishes to join at The Royal Duke in Okotoks.
