It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dwayne Garvin Tinney of Exeter, Ontario, who passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2023, at South Huron Hospital, following a short illness.
Dwayne was the best friend and loving husband of Donna Tinney (Kerslake), with whom they shared their love of gardening, travel, family and friends. He was the proud father of Darren and Nathalie Tinney (Noel) of Marathon and Harlen and Rene Tinney (Redhead) of Mississauga, and loving Papa to Cole, Trent (Claire Frake), Ben and Meagyn. He is fondly remembered by the Kerslake Family. He was the son of Lolus (McClinchey) (D) and Jack Tinney (D) and the beloved brother of Linda Tinney (D), Karen (D) and Doug Shirray of Tavistock, Joan Tinney of Victoria BC, Carol and Quentin Laws of Nanaimo BC, and Heather Tinney of London. Remembered by his step-mother Peggy (Iles) Tinney and her family. Predeceased by his wife Marian (May). Dwayne was born in 1938 and raised on the family farm in Hay Township. In school, he learned to sing and play piano and drums which started a musical career that included the Crescendos, Woody and the Main Street Jug Band and Whiskey Jack. He worked at General Coach in Hensall, Northlander in Exeter and eventually moved into real estate in the 1980s from which he retired in 2022. He loved to fish and vacation with his friends and family in Northern Ontario, with each week filled with food, games and laughter. He was a strong man with a soft-heart and lives forever in our hearts.
