Terry Anne Findlay (March 24, 1943 – July 21, 2023)
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a dear aunt, sister-in-law and friend, Terry Findlay, who passed away peacefully at PRHC on July 21, 2023 after a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma.
Terry is pre-deceased by her parents, Don and Eileen Findlay and her brother John. She is survived by her sister-in-law Michelle Findlay and nephew Nicholas Findlay, both of Toronto.
Raised in Bridgenorth, Terry emigrated to the US as a young woman and most of her working life was spent in Santa Barbara, California. She later returned to Bridgenorth to finish her career and retire.
Terry was passionate about animals and gave generously of her time to various organizations involved in animal welfare, such as Operation Catnip Peterborough and Lakefield Animal Welfare Society.
Her spare time was spent hiking, kayaking, skating and travelling, and these pursuits gave her a large circle of close friends who appreciated her unfailing kindness and sense of humour.
Donations in Terry’s name may be made to Operation Catnip Peterborough, Lakefield Animal Welfare Society or PRHC Foundation.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 840 Armour Rd., Peterborough on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM with Words of Remembrance at 1:00 PM.
