FINCH, Terri Ann (nee Leeming)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terri Ann Finch, who passed away peacefully at Emmanuel House Hospice, Hamilton on Friday, September 9, 2023 at the age of 69. Beloved wife for over 30 years to Ronald Taylor. Dear sister of Dale Leeming (Greg Blount), aunt of Jesse Blount (Maenyn Forsyth), and great-aunt to Cedar and Gabe. Will also be missed by Ron’s siblings; Cindy (Doug) and their children Amanda and Christy, Rob (Jenny), and Patty (Ian).
Terri wore many hats and was a genuine friend to many. She received her education at Queens University in Kingston and went on to work for many years as a clinical trial researcher with Juravinski Hospital and McMaster University. She enjoyed travelling the Canadian Provinces and the World, always up for a challenge as Ron’s partner in crime in hand gliding, hot air ballooning, and white-water rafting. A true lover of nature and animals, she adored her cat Ruby and dog Sampson. An avid bird watcher, Terri loved her weekly walks around Crawford Lake with her friends. She especially loved the yellow shafted flicker as they ate grubs from the lawn, fly catchers, and purple and yellow finches. At home she cared for blue birds and had bee and butterfly pollinator plants that not only attracted colourful hummingbirds, but also a tree frog named Oliver. Terri enjoyed her book club and also loved the theatre, supporting the Theatre Burlington, Stratford Festival, and the Shaw Festival.
Ron would like to thank all of the wonderful people who were involved in Terri’s transportation to the hospital and home again, many sincere thanks.
Private cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In keeping with Terri’s passions, if desired, a donation in her memory to the World Wildlife Foundation or the David Suzuki Foundation would be sincerely appreciated.
