It is with profound sadness that the family of Terrance (Terry) O’Brien, 78, of Orleans, Ontario, announces his passing on the 15th of March, 2023, following heart complications.
Loving spouse of Louise (nee Cousineau). Caring father to his children Sean (Mary-Ellen Morwood), and Lee (Jeffrey Sutherland), and entertaining and creative grandfather (Grumpy) to his six grandchildren, Kendra, Emily, Christopher, William, Cassandra, and Alexandria. He was a beloved brother to his siblings Theresa, Mary, Margaret and Edward (surviving) and to John, Helen, Patrick and Michael (predeceased) and an uncle to many loved nieces and nephews.
Terry will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, generous and thoughtful man with a great sense of humor. Terry was first to volunteer to help others, and would do without to ensure the comfort and well-being of his friends and family. Terry was a man rich in experiences, an avid nature lover and outdoorsman who authored or told colorful stories about his outdoor experiences and looked forward to planning and attending his annual fishing or hunting trips with friends and family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and planned action packed, kid friendly activities for their visits and researched fun activities to keep them entertained between visits.
Terry’s out-going personality led him to careers in business and sales where he climbed through the ranks of the local Loblaw’s store before taking a career as a salesman at Hudson’s Bay, ultimately leading to the position of General Manager of the Sudbury, Ontario Branch. He culminated his career by establishing his own Company, Terry’s Trolley, whose motto was “making life sweeter”. This motto represented Terry’s essence as he made life sweeter to the many lives he touched.
No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or your favored charities, in memory of Terry.
