Obituary
It is with a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Tammy Lynn (Ebel) Whaling on Monday, January 9, 2023. Tammy left us after a courageous 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. She was lovingly surrounded by her family to the very end.
Tammy is survived by her father, Larry; mother, Judy; and sister and best friend, Lorrie Ebel.
Also by a dear extended family member, Diane Pecor. During the last week through this trying time, Tammy’s cousin & friend, Kathy Ellis; extended family members Ann Williams and Chantale Pitts gave of their time with abounding energy 24/7 supporting the family. Tammy is also survived by her Aunt Linda (Kirk) Howard; cousins James (Amanda); Christopher Rothernel and Jonathon Tuthill. Uncle Barney Petrie and cousins, Jamie Petrie and Jennifer Petrie. Great-Aunt Edith Herman. Uncle Bill (Marj) Ebel, cousins, Kathy Ellis (Mike); Billy Ebel (Kim). Uncle Garry (Sharon) Ebel, Cousins Garry Jr Ebel (Joanna); Julie (Ebel) Brenneman. Tammy was predeceased by Grandmother, Betty Ebel; Grandfather, William (Bill) Henry Robinson;
Great Uncle Wilf Herman; Aunt Bette Petrie; Uncle Frederick William Robinson and
cousin Maddox Rothernel.
Tammy accomplished so many things in her 55 years. After she graduated with honours from
the Nursing Program at George Brown College, in Toronto, Tammy worked at the Stratford
General Hospital in Chronic, Rehab and Palliative care. After working at Stratford General Hospital, Tammy went to work at Cooper-Standard in the Lab. From there Tammy joined the team at Scotia Bank which she thoroughly enjoyed. Working Life aside, where Tammy truly shone was her generosity in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and Shelter Link. It was her passion for helping people that truly defined her. That being said; in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Shelterlink, or a charity of one’s choice.
A special thank you goes out to the hard working, beautiful and caring staff of Care Partners.
Without their assistance every step of the way, we would have been lost. A special thank you for being with us, helping with Tammy’s care 24/7 to Kathy Ellis, our dear niece.
Visitation will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, January 15, from 12 until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
