With heavy hearts, the family of Suzanne Angelique Lapointe – age 67 of Cornwall, Ontario, announce that she passed peacefully in her sleep at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick on Sunday, March 19, 2023. She born on June 25, 1955 and is predeceased by her late husband, Erik Gruter (Dec. 7, 2015); and her youngest son, Shayne Christian Slade (Nov. 26, 2019); her biological father, Ernest Joseph Lapointe (Nov. 30, 2006); and mother, Jeanine Flaro (Aug. 30, 2014); her sisters, Francine Sarault (Apr. 27 2016), Lorraine Robert (Mar. 15, 2018) and Jeanette Antoine (Apr. 5, 2019). Suzanne is survived by her children, Trisha Slade of Riverton, Manitoba, Amanda Slade (Joseph) of East St Paul, Manitoba and Ryan Slade (Terra) of British Columbia; and six grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends across Canada.
Suzanne requested a cremation and a small service will be held later this summer. She requested that her and her late husband Erik Gruter’s ashes be released together free over the ocean. The family wishes to thank all those who cared and were beside her during her last days at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Our hearts are touched by the love and support you all have given us.
