Galbraith, Susan (“Sue”) Elizabeth (nee Early) (February 21, 1968 – August 29, 2023)
It is with sadness, that we the family of Susan Elizabeth (Early) Galbraith wish to announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, after a courageous struggle with illness, on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023, at VON Sakura House Hospice, Woodstock, at the age of 55. Sue was born in Brampton, to her parents (late) Gordon Edward Early and mother “Peggy” M. (McKinnon) Early, a resident of Cambridge, ON. Survived by her much-loved and loving husband James (“Jamie”) Galbraith, of Otterville. Lovingly remembered by her daughters Melissa Galbraith, of Manitoba and Jessie (Justin Simpson), of Keswick, ON. Survived by her sisters and their families: Katherine Early (Derrick Arndt), of Kitchener and their son Gordon Early; Carol (John Morson), of Cambridge and their sons Evan Morson and Kurtis Morson (his children Elliott and Peyton). Also survived by several in-laws, cousins, and their families: Brenda (Richard Hall), their daughter Katie (Ryan Kitchener) (their children Hannah, Ian, Callum); Richard (Andrea) Hall, Richard’s sons Anthony, Nicholas; Bradley (Fatima) Hall; Tanya (John), their daughter Becky Hoover (Lucas), (Becky’s children Spencer, Elliot); Jay Hoover.
Sue was a smiling face at Metro for over 25 years. Sue will be lovingly remembered by her family for her strong, feisty, ‘stubborn as hell’ personality. Her family was always at the forefront of Sue’s priorities; many fond memories of family camping trips and get togethers were created, which will forever live on in the hearts and minds of her family.
In keeping with Sue’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place following a private family farewell. All friends, neighbours and relatives are invited to attend a public visitation on Friday, September 1st, 2023, between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg. On Friday evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m., family and friends will be invited to share favourite stories and memories with Sue, with words of comfort by Rev. Ted Smith. Everyone who knew Sue is invited to share favourite memories, photos, express personal condolences or contribute memorial donations to “VON Oxford” (to benefit Sakura House Hospice), via Sue’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. (519)842-4238, which has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
“The Galbraith family would like to thank the Doctor’s, Nurse’s, PSW’s and Staff at Sakura House Hospice, for their excellent care and for making Sue and our family feel comforted over these last days.”
