Obituary of Stephen Richard Spring

February 15, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with deep sadness we announce that Stephen Spring passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the age of 84, after a long and courageous battle with Mesothelioma.
Stephen was born in Salvador, SK, and moved to Calgary at a very young age. He married his wife Dorothy, whom he met curling, in 1965. In 1971, together in partnership, they established Spring’s Servicing and Heating Ltd, which is still in business today. He was a talented nature photographer and enjoyed countless hours in his workshop creating beautiful stained-glass lamps and making furniture. He took great pride in his handiwork, and he could fix anything! One of his favourite daily pleasures was his Tim’s coffee, one cream two sugars.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy, and daughters, Lindsay (Patrick), and Shannon (Trevor); and grandchildren, Austin, Quinn, Paris, Joshua, Kael, and Reid.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Dr SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the Church Hall. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at the Chinook Hospice for the loving care given to Stephen.
