Stephen (Steve) Robert DESLOGES Passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 20th, 2023 in Timmins, Ontario at the age of 73. He was blessed to be surrounded by family for every moment of his final days.
Steve was born on June 30th, 1949, in South Porcupine, Ontario to Robert and Alice Desloges (nee de Blois).
During his working life, Steve managed and owned many successful small businesses and was loved by his staff as an easy-going and generous boss. He finished his career working as a supply manager at DeBeers mine, Victor Project, in Attawapiskat, where he was liked and respected for his ability to get along with everyone, regardless of background.
In his younger years, while living in southern Ontario, Steve was a very active member and leader in the local Kinsmen Club of Trenton, Ontario where he led many charitable initiatives and encouraged people in the community to be more engaged. Later in life, Steve loved spending time enjoying nature at his father’s hand-built hunting camp just outside of Cochrane.
He was a loving son, father, brother, and friend. His memory will live on forever through the lives he touched. Steve leaves behind his daughters, Adele and Chantal; his sisters, Corinne Breathat (Larry), Lisa Hannah (Ken), Patricia (Minnie) MacMillan (Doug), Gail Norquay (Alan), Jane Desloges; his brother John Desloges (Karen); as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father, Robert Desloges, his mother, Alice Desloges (nee de Blois), and his brother, Paul Desloges, all of whom he loved deeply.
Adele and Chantal wish to gratefully acknowledge the love and effort of Minnie and Doug MacMillan who took diligent care of Steve’s daily needs during the last years of his life.
The funeral will be held on Steve’s birthday, June 30, 2023, as follows:
• 10:15 am – Condolences and visitation prior to the mass – Transfiguration Parish, 316 7th Avenue North, Cochrane, Ontario.
• 11 am – Funeral mass -Transfiguration Parish, 316 7th Avenue North, Cochrane, Ontario.
• 12:30 pm – Interment immediately following the mass at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Genier Rd., Cochrane, Ontario.
• 1:15 pm – Reception immediately following the interment, at Cochrane Legion, 151 6th Avenue.
Remembrance donations to the Kinsmen Club of Trenton or to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation (Hospice) would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
