Our father was a man who immigrated from Italy, Spezzano della Sila, Calabria.only with his ambition and his wonderful smile of hopefulness and courage. With his determination and hard work, he established his business store in Hamilton “Italo Canadian Supermarket”. Later in life he moved his family to Burlington and opened “Bi-rite Fresh Meats and Deli”. With his strength and kind heart he became a good friend and a pillar in both communities. He was very proud of his accomplishments and his family. Our dad taught us life’s lessons of respect, loyalty and what it means to be a friend. To always have compassion and kindness over resentment. He loved his Hamilton Tiger Cats, and Toronto Maple Leafs. We always had a great time watching these games together. He loved animals and nature. He had a passion for gardening and waiting for his little harvest. He loved playing cards, a game of “Scopa” with his family and friends which brought laughter to the table. Our father always had a positive outlook in life, no matter what life obstacles came his way it never defeated him. He had a great sense of humour and was happy with simplicity. If you told him you wanted to reach for the stars, he would say “why not”. So, as he shines among the stars now, he will forever be in our hearts.
