It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Stanley Donald Barrett on June 19, 2023, at the age of 91 years.
Beloved husband of Patricia for 41 years and loving father to his sons William (Pam), Robert (Kathleen) and Mark (Karen).
Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Tricia (Mark), Cassie (Jeff), Murphy (Max), Ashley (Michael) and Brendan (Krystle). Proud great grandfather to Carter, Kara, Nathan, Mikayla, Ryan, Luke and Levi.
Don was born in Glenshee and grew up in Tillsonburg Ontario.
Don was an active and supporting member of his church and donated generously to many Christian organizations. He had a kind and gentle personality, who loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. Family always came first.
Don loved the outdoors and had a passion for cars. He worked as an auto mechanic for most of his career and was known as an honest person with great integrity.
As a survivor of polio and cancer, Don drew strength from his faith and lived his life with positivity.
His advice to family and others was “Don’t do something that you don’t enjoy. Life is too short. There will always be something else.”
There will be a private family memorial service held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
Don will be dearly missed by family and friends, but he will be forever in our hearts.
