Shirley Spencer
Spencer (Richardson), Shirley – Age 83, Debert. It is with great heartbreak that we announce the passing of our mother, the center and rock of our family, on Friday, February 10, 2023.
Mom was born in Upper Musquodoboit on March 9, 1939, to the late William Richardson and Anita (Gilbert) DeBaie.
She is survived by her children, Dan (Tammy), Sandra, Truro, Lynda (Chuck), Ontario, Ron Garnhum, Belmont, Lorri, Debert, Rod, Truro, Heather (Weldon), Middle Musquodoboit, Cheryl (Mike), Great Village and Jamie (Daphne) Spencer, Belmont; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; sister, Gloria (Colonel); brothers, Calvin and Warren (Patsy) as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters, Barb, Diane, Bonnie; brother, Wayne and last but certainly not least, her beloved dog, “Baby.”
Mom was always known for her fun-loving attitude and love of country music, especially George Jones. There wasn’t an old classic that she couldn’t belt out. She loved her family fiercely and we loved her right back. We love you Shirley, Ma, Mama, Mom, Mother, Mommy.
Our loss is Heaven’s gain!
We would like to thank Drs. Graham and Henderson as well as the staff of the CEHHC Palliative Care Unit. We truly appreciate the care you gave to our mother and the compassion you showed to us in our grief.
Donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.
