Obituary For Shirley Jean Temple
Shirley Temple, long-time resident of Grande Prairie, passed away on February 26, 2023 after a long and heartbreaking battle with dementia.
Shirley is mourned by her sister, Nora Hassall; her children, Sheryl (Melvin) Heikel, Brenda (Doug) Norton, Ron (Laura) Henderson, Tammy (Les) Virr and Blair (Linda) Temple.
Also, left to mourn are her grandchildren Julie, John, Matthew, Amanda (Heikel); Alexa, Carlie, Chase (Norton); Elizabeth, Anne, Robyn (Henderson); Jody, Leah (Virr); Brittany, Michael, Braden (Temple); 15 great grandchildren, numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces, neighbours and friends.
A campfire memorial service will be held on Monday, September 4, 2023, at 11:00AM at Camp Wapiti. Please bring lawn chairs. A light lunch will be provided after the service.
To get to Camp Wapiti go south on Hwy 40, approx. 9km from the Hwy 43/40 intersection, to Twp Rd 704A. This intersection has the last set of lights before going down the hill to the Wapiti Bridge. Turn left onto Twp Rd 704A, and after less than 100m take the first right onto the gravelled RR 62. Follow the Camp Wapiti signs through the gravel pits all the way to Camp Wapiti (about 4km from Twp Rd 704A).
