On August 19, 2023, Mrs. Shirley Ann Cardinal (Patenaude) of Buffalo Lake, Alberta formerly of Fort McMurray, Alberta passed away at the age of 75 years. She is survived by her husband, David Cardinal; 4 sons, Carl (Adele) Durocher, Terence Durocher (Roberta), Lance (Yolanda) Durocher, Jethro (Ania) Ulrich; daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” Giroux; daughter-in-law, Shelly Durocher; 15 grandchildren, Valene Patenaude, Carrie Patenaude, Charmaine Durocher, Kyle Durocher, Jenelle Durocher, Theresa Thill, Stephanie Giroux, Jean-marc Giroux, Katherine Durocher, Kirsten L’hommecourt, Madison Durocher (Sophia), Bailey Herman, Randolph Ulrich, Kai Ulrich & Erik Ulrich; 10 great-grandchildren, Brayson, Athena, Blake, Emily, Samuel, Honor, Lavonne, Vesper, Remi & Mylo; 7 sisters, Francis, Marjorie, Doris, Helen, Susie, Marlene & Ruth; 3 brohers, Joe, Gerald “Gary” & David. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry & Theresa Patenaude; 3 sisters, Doreen Desjarlais, Joanne Patenaude & Eunice Patenaude; 2 brothers, Harold & Laurence Patenaude; & son, Lorne Durocher. A Wake will be held Thursday & Friday, August 24 & 25 beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Buffalo Lake Recreation Centre, Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Buffalo Lake Recreation Centre with Pastor Joe Kuraitis officiating.
