Shelley Louise McDonnell of Red Deer County, Alberta passed away near Sylvan Lake, Alberta on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the age of 62 years. Shelley was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and was raised, and lived most of her life in Calgary, Alberta. Shelley loved, and was loved, by everyone she had contact with. Shelley enjoyed her career as an Educational Assistant working at the Horizon School, Olds, Alberta. Teachers, and her students loved her because of her passion for helping those in need. Shelley’s other passion was old cars, and she could be found at weekly Vintage Car Rallies with her partner, Bob. Other than the birth of her children, Bob was the best thing that happened in her life. Shelley will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure to get to know her. Shelley will be lovingly remembered by her partner of fifteen years, Bob Rayner; her two sons, Chris McDonnell of Calgary, Alberta, and Robert McDonnell of Sylvan Lake, Alberta; her daughter, Michelle McDonnell of Calgary, Alberta, and her five grandchildren, Caelin, Anderson, Nick, Hailey, and Evelyn all of Calgary, Alberta. She will also be sadly missed by her brother, Brenden McDonnell; and her sisters Charlene McDonnell, and Jennifer Hodgert all of Calgary, Alberta. Shelley was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Avrea. In keeping with Shelley’s wishes, a Private Family Celebration of Life will be held.
