After a quick but courageous fight with cancer, Sharon walked into the arms of Jesus on Sunday September 3, 2023, where undoubtedly, He said, well done, my good and faithful servant. Enter now into the joy of the Lord. Matthew 25:21 Sharon was the daughter of the late Doug and Bessie Orr. She was born in Timmins on October 15, 1946 where she grew up and graduated from Timmins High and Vocational School. Mom worked as a legal secretary early in her career and then as a medical secretary, performing her duties with professionalism and accuracy which created demands for her services throughout the years. Mom had a gentle heart and made friends wherever she went. She was a kind, compassionate, generous, giving and selfless person. Mom fiercely loved her family, rooting for us, protecting us, forgiving us, and most importantly praying for us. Mom made it a mission to love selflessly and be a living example of God’s word. She loved to love people, but most of all she loved her saviour Jesus Christ. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another just as God also forgave you in Christ”. Mom loved being a mom, Nana, sister and friend. Loving and devoted momma to Stephen McTiernan (Jeanette Nolan), Christopher McTiernan (Christine Nadeau) of Kelowna B.C. and Molly McTiernan (Michael Cook) of Timmins. Mother-in-law to Mike Rowe of Timmins. Sister to Randy and Margaret Orr. Predeceased by her precious grandson Andrew McTiernan (2016). Loving nana to Megan Rowe, Mark Rowe and Madison Rowe (Draiden Hacquard). Survived by the father of her children Bob McTiernan. Aunt to niece’s Katherine, Susan and Nephew William. Also left to mourn are mom’s special friends Reilly and Lindsay Heffernan and Sharon Lively. Mom will also be missed by her furry grand babies, Charlie, Ollie, Abbey and Joey. To say that mom’s family and friends will greatly miss her is an understatement. You fought a brave and good fight mom, now it is time to sing and dance in the heavens. A very special thank you to the nurses and staff at Timmins and District Hospital, Medical C and Hospice. A very special thank you to Dr. Yates, Dr. Thomas, Dr. DiTullio, Dr. Raymond and nurses Pam and Jordenn. Your compassion, gentleness and professionalism were valued and appreciated. Also, thank you to mom’s church family at Mount Calvary Reformed Church for supporting our family during this difficult time. Donations can be made directly to iatw.ca/ (Into all the world) or in person at the funeral home (Cheques payable to Into all the World; memo Julienne Lebrun/Sharon Burns). Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at Bannerman Park in Porcupine on Saturday September 9, 2023 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
