Sherk, Sharon:
After a courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side, Sharon was embraced by the healing and loving arms of Jesus on February 22, 2023 at Hospice Waterloo Region in Waterloo, ON at the age of 61.
Beloved wife of Dean Sherk. Loving mother of Brad Sherk (Leah), Kevin Sherk (Hilary), Darryl Sherk (Lauren) and Jaden Sherk. Cherished grandmother of Beau, Forrest, Dallas, Mason, and grandbaby to be.
Predeceased by her beloved father, Fred Cullum.
Lovingly remembered by her mother, Sandra Cullum and mother-in-law, Evelyn van Daalen.
Sharon will be greatly missed by her sisters Laura Quinlan (Al) and Barb Treadwell (Gord), brother-in-law, Darren Sherk, sister-in-law, Evelyn Sherk, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Sharon was a beautiful soul and loving spouse, a life partner that made her husband a better man. Their 37 years of marriage reflected their devotion for one another and their mutually shared faith, hope and love. She had a loving, humble, and gentle presence as a mother and grandmother; always there to comfort her family and cheer them on in life. Her smile was contagious, and we will forever cherish the laughter and memories we shared with her as a family. She was an exceptional example of unconditional love to her family and friends, thanks to her strong identity rooted in Christ.
Sharon’s faith and love was demonstrated tangibly by her actions, service, and hospitality. She was in her sweet spot when she supported others, working behind the scenes, whether at home or at work. If you were fortunate enough to meet her, you were welcomed and safe in her presence. Despite being an introvert, she took an interest in people by actively engaging them in conversation. Her goal in life was to be like Jesus and to be a blessing to everyone she met, to the glory of God. She was active in her faith community at WMB Church, in many supportive roles.
Special thanks to Waterloo Wellington Care Partners Team 2 – Donna, Erin, Jane, Jessica, Terry and Sabir and to Dr. Yew and Dr. Molckovsky.
