BASQUE-JOHNSON – Sandra May, Potlotek,
It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Sandra May Basque-Johnson of Potlotek, who passed away suddenly at her residence in Potlotek on August 1st, 2023, she was the daughter of the late John and Bridget Ann (Paul) Basque.
Sandra May loved her family. She was a kind and caring person. She worked as a Band Counselor for eight years, and she would never hesitate to help anyone.
Sandra enjoyed spending time with her family, going for drives with her dogs, and having a fire on a nice night, she loved playing with her grandson Braylon, and a quiet night watching movies.
She will be missed by all who had the opportunity of knowing her.
Sandra May is survived by her husband Kevin Johnson, and common law spouse Winston Marshall; daughter Tracie Johnson (Brandon MacDonald); sons Daniel “DJ” Basque (Sarah Thompson), and Jude Johnson, all of Potlotek; grandchildren Serenity Johnson, Caleb Basque, Audrina MacDonald – Johnson, and Braylon MacDonald; great grand-daughter Arianna Johnson; brothers James Basque (Jenny O’Toole), Potlotek, Jerome Basque (Cynthia Patton) Montreal, Roger Basque, Kenny Basque (Diane), and Lloyd Basque all of Potlotek; sisters Juliana Bernard, Wekomaq, Belinda Basque, Anita Basque and sister-in-law Maryann Basque all of Potlotek.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters Annie Jane Basque-Toney (Benedict), and Nancy Basque in infancy; brother Norman Basque, Michael “Misel” Basque, and brother-in-law Alan Bernard.
Visitation will be held in the Blessed Kateri Tekawitha Chaple in Potlotek on Tuesday, August 8th from 2 pm until Thursday, August 10th at 10:15 am. Funeral mass to Celebrate the Life of Sandra May will be held on Thursday, August 10th at 11 am at St. Peters Catholic Church in St. Peters with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating.
Cremation will take place. The burial will be held at a later date.
A Salite will be held in the Potlotek Community Hall following the funeral.
