Sandra Kay-Ann (Sandee) Richer (Dowie) September 29th, 1943 – June 12th, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the very sudden passing of Sandee in the early morning hours
of June 12th at the age of 79. Sandee battled courageously and fiercely to the very end.
Born in Hamilton, Sandee was the beloved daughter of Anna (2009) and Douglas Dowie (1974). Sandee
will be dearly missed by her spouse and best friend of 43 years, Jesse Richer. Loving mother of Susan
(2021), Ross (Tammy) and Cameron, many friends, and neighbors. She leaves her greatest legacy, her
grandchildren; Eric, Kristin (Jim), Krista, Shauna, Carlie (Kyle), Geordin, Madison and her greatgrandchildren; Jeremy, Lyla, Sammy, Blake. She will be dearly missed by Bob, her favorite, most loving furry companion.
As a former employee of Canadian Figure Skating (Skate Canada), as their graphic designer, she was
sought after for her expertise and talents. She served with dedication and integrity. Sandee always had
a smile and kind words for everyone. She was warm and welcoming, always a strong shoulder to cry on.
She may have been tiny, but she was a strong-willed woman with a huge heart.
Sandee’s passion was reading books. She took great enjoyment in reading as many books as she could,
on good days, it was 1 or 2 books. Her knowledge was remarkable, her memory impeccable and she
appreciated every moment she learned and shared more trivia and knowledge. She also loved to travel
and the casinos, if they were on the way, which most of the times were, she was thrilled.
Sandee is now free of all pain, and have reunited with her daughter Susan, her Mom and Dad. Her
memory and spirit will not be forgotten, but forever cherished. Rest in peace sweetie.
In accordance with Sandee’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.
