It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Samuel Marshall of Grand Bank announces his passing. Samuel passed away at the Health Science Center in St. John’s on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023, at the age of 74. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife of 51 years, Vera; son, Craig Marshall (Tonya) of Fortune; daughters, Abigail Crocker (Kevin) of CBS, Dolores Forsey (Brent) of Fortune; mother in law, Marjorie Baker of Grand Bank; sisters, Yvonne Collier (Anthony), Susan Augot; brothers, Albert Marshall (Jessie), Cecil Marshall (Marlene); 6 grandchildren, Andrew, Kaylee, Avery, Samantha, Emily, Georgia; brothers in law, Freeman Baker (Joanne), Wayne Baker; sisters in law, Jane Bishop (Launce), Mike Baker (Phyllis); plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Samuel was predeceased by parents, Luke and Hannah Marshall; brother, Victor Marshall; sister, Rosie Marshall; father in law, Freeman Baker; sister in law Mary Snook (John); brother in law, Jim Augot.
The Marshall Family will be accepting visitors at All Saints Anglican Chapel on Springhill Road, Fortune, NL A0E 1P0 on Saturday, June 17th, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will take place at All Saints Anglican Church on Monday, June 19th, 2023 at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow.
In Samuel’s memory donations may be made to Morrisville Fire Hall and Community Centre, or flowers gratefully accepted.
Sam started work at an early age on the highways. He moved to Fortune to work on the draggers. He spent many years on the sea providing for his family. He finished out his career with the Canadian Coast Guard. Sam was well known around the community as being a kind gentle soul and would do anything for anybody. He enjoyed playing darts, cribbage and he also loved having a family game night. Sam enjoyed hunting and playing guitar with his brothers and loved cooking meals for family gatherings. Family was everything to him and he was everything to his family.
