STEWART, RUSSELL RILEY
With family at his side, Russell Riley Stewart passed away unexpectedly at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick on August 27, 2023.
Born in Digby, Nova Scotia on August 19, 1955, Russell was predeceased by both his father, John Graham and mother Annie (Gavel) Stewart. He was also predeceased by his sons, Justin Stewart and Michael (Mike) Jack and siblings Kenneth Stewart and Barry Stewart.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of more than 30 years Dale (Jack) Stewart, sons Jason (Renee) Stewart, James (Cheryl) Stewart, daughters Amanda (Ricardo) Stewart and Carrie (Paul) Greene, grandchildren, Julia, Emma, Marcus, Madison, Anthony, Amanda, Connor, Cristiano, Sophie, Theo and Kassandra, his sister Betty (Tim) Winchester, his very special niece, Bonnie along with many nieces and nephews.
Russell was a fisherman and loved everything about the water. He would often reminisce about his time fishing in the Bay of Fundy and would share many stories. He had recently discovered a love for singing Karaoke with his granddaughters, Julia and Emma. He could often be found tinkering in his tool shed and would attempt to fix anything.
Visitation will take place at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road in Saint John on Friday, September 1st from 10am to 12 noon with the funeral to take place at 12 noon. A reception will follow with a private family burial afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Romero House in Saint John.
